Gaara, youngest of the Three Sand Siblings, was feared as a monster in Sunagakure for being the jinchūriki of the One-Tailed Shukaku. However, after being defeated by Naruto Uzumaki, he began emulating his strength and later became Suna's Fifth Kazekage, protecting the village and its inhabitants.
